System Requirements

The X-modem is compatible with any computing device that has an Ethernet connection and has TCP-IP Networking capabilities. The X-modem can be used with devices such as the X-Box & Play station 2 games consoles. A computer with a web browser is required for initial set-up.

 A USB port is provided for connecting a computer that does not have Ethernet. Ethernet is the preferred connection method, but if unavailable USB drivers are supplied for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP

Compatibility

The X-Modem can be used with some broadband & wireless routers however not all routers are able to cope with only having a single IP address. As we test routers we will provide a compatibility list.

We will also endeavour to get the broadband router manufacturers to update their firmware to make their routers compatible with the X-Modem. Devices listed as incompatible can still be used with the X-Modem in gateway mode, however this results in the router being issued a private IP address not the public address.

Please note that the X-Modem is not compatible with AOL as they use a proprietory system.
